You want to find work-or at least be ready to work-when the economy starts changing. That’s why you need to pay attention to the areas of the economy that are expected to see the most growth.According to this study, the state is going to need an additional 4,700 nurses by 2018. So if you can go back to school, nursing-or any health related field-is probably a good bet. Why? Because the state’s health & social services jobs are expected to increase by a whopping 17.1 percent. That’s an increase of more than 13,000 jobs in that area of the economy alone.Another area that’s expected to see big gains is professional, scientific, & technical services, which is expected to see nearly a 30 percent growth. And if you work a menial job in a manufacturing plant-or that’s where your experience lies-the outlook doesn’t look nearly as good.
