It is always a good idea to prepare for an interview; therefore you should have a strategy in mind. Using deliberate interview techniques will help lead you to a job offer.First of all, know where you are going. Go there in advance so you know exactly where you are interviewing & how long it will take you to get to the location.Research the company’s goals, mission statements, vision & values. The company’s website should include most of the material needed so you will be well informed. Practice, Practice, Practice. You want this interview to end in a job offer.Before stepping into the interview, take a moment to use the restroom. Check your breath, sweaty palms, hair, clothes, etc. Smile at yourself in the mirror & give yourself a boost of confidence.

Be aware of your body language. Sit tall, hands open & on your lap, do not tense up in reaction to a question, make eye contact, shake hands firmly, do not shift back & forth in your seat, do not sit down until offered, allow a comfortable distance between you & the interviewer, smile & react appropriately to what the interviewer has to say & try & keep hand gestures to a minimum.Toward the end of the interview, the hiring managers will often allow time for you to ask them questions. Take advantage of this. Have a list of questions for them. This not only shows your interest in the position but by asking the right kind of questions you are showing the hiring manager you have an understanding of the business.
