Each one of us has a unique reason for trying to find a job. Some do for them to have something to do – an escape from boredom. Others look for a job as an escape from or a solution to the dreaded squalor of poverty. And countless other reasons in between.In trying to find a job, people do all sorts of things just to be able to get the all-encompassing precious job. Some read “how to find a good job” articles & handbooks. Others wear out many pairs of shoes going around town asking establishments for suitable jobs. Easiest is reaching for the telephone & use the Yellow Pages. Some people spend many hours composing the most impressive application letter. And more hours window-dressing their résumé. Still others prepare for the anticipated interview using the mirror as the imaginary would-be employer. There are those who spend considerable sums of money for a wardrobe that they hope to impress prospective employers with.
The more serious type, usually with guidance from an equally serious set of parents, “follow every rule” from childhood to the completion of his or her education up to the submission of a job application letter to some future employer pre-qualified by one or both parents. The religious simply prays for the ideal job.Job search is just like any other animal. We have to treat it as just one part of a whole universe.
