Corporate Housing Vs Hotel

Your company has transferred you to another city or you have taken a new job that requires you to move. Single or married, this requires a short term stay somewhere other than home. Maybe just long enough to find yourself an apartment, it’s nice to get to know the area a little before signing a year’s lease, but maybe several months will be involved if you are waiting for your family to join you. Hotels or some type of corporate housing are probably going to be what you consider. There are advantages to both (did someone say room service?) but most likely not in the pocketbook area. A lot depends on who is going to be paying for it. If you are a family man & your family is staying in your home for the kids to finish out the school year & you have simply gotten a new job, price might be a big consideration. When it comes out of your own pocketbook, you think twice about spending it. If this is a company transfer, & the company is footing the bill, it’s simply a matter of personal preference. We all know that hotels give you one large room. Cooking is usually not an option in a hotel room, although some do have microwave ovens. I don’t know what you think about frozen dinner 7 nights a week, but I don’t think much of it.

I guess you could get some take out. Hotels are usually located in a heavily congested area like around shopping malls or near the airport. If the hotel has a restaurant, you could eat there & offset all the frozen dinners & one advantage to being in a really busy area is that there will be any number of restaurants. I guess that eating out in a restaurant will beat a frozen dinner alone in your hotel room, huh? Doing your laundry is also a consideration, I am sure that hotels will have a laundry service. I feel sure that they charge you for that, but at least you get clean underwear. If they don’t offer laundry service, I am sure there is a Laundromat around someplace & most of them do drop off fluff & fold. Most corporate housing is in moderately congested areas, still close to restaurants & shopping, just not smack dab in the middle of all of it. Although they also offer one big room, they offer other options too. They offer units with separate bedrooms, this way you don’t always have to eat in bed. They have kitchens, fully appliance. This way, cooking is a real option. You may be someone who loves to cook, so this option would appeal to you. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/6234529
