Best Hotel Gimmicks & Marketing

It is no secret that hotels need promotions & marketing in order to get their brand out to the market & gain new clientele. Still, there are some hotels who go beyond the regular kind of advertisement most people would come to expect. That said, let us take a look at some examples of hotels who have made various efforts to stand out from the crowd, all in the name of good old marketing to draw people in. When it comes to gimmicks, there’s always one city that comes straight to mind. That is Las Vegas, otherwise known as Sin City because of all the gambling & other stuff going on around The Strip & the surrounding parts.

This city’s hotels, from the grandiose ones with their own high-end casinos to the smallest motels, all have gimmicks that seek to lure in the mesmerized visitor. Caesar’s Palace perhaps best represents gimmicky Las Vegas hotels, what with its Roman-themed landscapes & architecture & the immense main water fountain. The luxury hotel also has an entertainment venue fashioned after the Colosseum, among other sub-venues. Aptly called The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, it has hosted the likes of Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Elton John, & Cher. Over to the opposite coast, there’s a 198-room establishment called Donovan House, which has some sort of CIA theme. After all, the hotel is named after Major General William Joseph “Wild Bill” Donovan, who headed the United States’ Office of Strategic Services. The OSS preceded the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which is why Donovan is acknowledged as the father of the CIA. The Donovan House’s theme includes wristwatch communicators for the hotel staff & cocoon spiral showers-something that hints at what secret agents probably bathe in.
