One of the luxury hotels I happened to stay at while visiting Morocco was the newly renovated La Mamounia Hotel. I would admit that I personally have done my share of research before I even decided on getting booked with them & I happened to stumble over some not so pleasant reviews from people who claim to have had a bad experience with this Riad. After my stay, I have come up with a Marrakech review of La Mamounia Hotel based on my personal experience. I was quite surprised with the amount of negative feedback that I have read regarding this fabulous hotel that I somewhat became intrigued by it that I decided to stay with them just for a day to see it for myself. La Mamounia hotel was not a bad experience for me that I was bent on booking a couple more day’s stay with them & that was what I did! Let me tell you what I liked about my stay with this short review.
The first thing I like about this hotel is its location which is an ideal base for exploring the Marrakech attractions because of its close proximity to the Medina & the Souks. La Mamounia is considered to be one of the most historic & famous hotels in the Red City. I found out that this place had been closed for three long years of renovation under the watchful eye of internationally-acclaimed designer Jacques Garcia & I would say that I am quite impressed. Another thing that I have to mention in this Marrakech review of La Mamounia hotel is that I learned that they just had their inauguration on the 26th of November which was a week before my stay. Just to show you how famous they are; I was told that even Hollywood’s biggest celebrities came to Marrakech for this event. This palace is indeed the epitome of the Moroccan Art de Vivre. La Mamounia is a fascinating combination of Art Deco & has retained its classical Moorish design with its 200 year-old garden, elegant carpets together with its elaborate marble & wood filigree work. It surely is one of the finest luxury Riads in Marrakech to date. Let us review their rooms, level of service & of course, we have to review the food!
