Lucky for you, there is a city tucked into the triangle made by these particular thoroughfares (perhaps the busiest in the Lone Star State) called Brenham, Texas. Brenham is really the heart of Washington County, an area of Texas that is perhaps the most significant part of the state’s history. Brenham is small (an area of about nine square miles), but over the last five decades has doubled its population. Given that it is home to Blue Bell Ice Cream, & is a great midpoint for those traveling between Austin & Houston, Brenham is perhaps best thought of as a nice reminder of small-town life in Texas with big-city glitz just a short drive away.
