The Mercure Grosvenor Hotels : Adelaide (also known as Ibis Styles Grosvenor : Adelaide) has an OFFICIAL star rating of four & an UNOFFICIAL star rating of 3 room online booking sites. The night before we had stayed staying at the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel – Adelaide we stayed in another 4 star hotel which was less than pleasing so we had high expectations that maybe this hotel would be different. Unfortunately it wasn’t & this is my review of the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel.
Reception staff were less than welcoming, in fact they were quite rude & dismissive as if we weren’t good enough to stay there (I’m a Platinum Card Holder). We booked a Classic Queen Room & unfortunately there was nothing Classic about it. The room was so small the Queen bed had one side pushed up against the wall whilst the other side had only enough walking space before you ended up in the ensuite, which itself seemed like a storage cupboard. I went to use the iron & ironing board but there was no where for it to fit. The mini bar had nothing in it, no water, complimentary milk, nothing.
