No Holiday Break For Great Jobs Seeker

As we close out 2011 we must find time to reflect & enjoy the holidays with our families & friends. This is also an ideal time to fine tune your networking skills as you continue to look for employment opportunities. We are seeing a lot of hiring activity as we approach the end of the year. Most companies have completed their 2011 Profit Plans which outlines staffing etc. Many of these companies are hiring over the next six weeks in anticipation of a January starting date. So yes you can do both; you can enjoy your holidays & network. You will either be in the company of friends or family during these holidays. This is a perfect opportunity for you to network with them about employment opportunities. I will refer to your network strategy during the holidays as the Rule of 1. As you interact with neighbors, friends & family be mindful that it is only necessary to mention to them “once” that you are seeking employment opportunities. They will remember this & it is not necessary to continuously mention it to them during the event or over the next six weeks.

The holidays are the ideal time to get re-acquainted with old colleagues and friends. As you have discussions with your contacts be sure to gather additional names of professionals you can network with. You should view each person you come in contact with as a resource for you. They are the professionals who may know someone “who knows someone”. Do not dismiss any contact as insignificant during gatherings because everyone has connections. You will be able to gather a lot of good information that will help you during your job search. We certainly understand the challenges many professionals face during these difficult times. Continue to remain upbeat in the presence of people you interact with & know that the best is yet to come.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/5422463
