The Four Taboos Of Great Online Teaching

For most people who consider online teaching to be the best jobs they have taken, it still leaves them a great deal of a challenge. After all, I always believe that “there is no such thing as a difficult profession, for if it is not difficult, then it is not a profession.” Based on my experience as an online teacher, I have learned quite many important things in half a year of my experience. But of all the things that I have learned from there are indeed five things I have not forgotten to take at heart. The difficulty one has to face lies at the source of this profession- the students themselves. In this job considered popularly as one of the best employments online, you have to deal with your students properly should you wish to overcome such difficulty.

Face it. Nobody wants to talk to a boring person no matter how energetic they are. It makes your life dull. It is often the source of frustration for most people. Students are not in any way different. If you sound too boring for them, or too lethargic; you are giving an impression that you do not want to teach them. This is a big mistake, but many online teachers are not conscious of how they sound.Nothing could irritate you more than for a person to teach you things you do not know. Of course, if you have been qualified & hired as an online teacher, this is not so. But do ask yourself, “How could your students believe you it if you sound like you knew nothing about what you are teaching?” If you keep saying “maybe” or “I think so” or blatantly saying “I do not know” over an important matter in English, then you are practically telling them, “I am not qualified to teach.” It would do well for you to either prepare or make an excuse that would make you sound still competent.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/5762068
